Kollam: The police have intensified their investigation into the recent child abduction case in Oyoor, Kollam. They have moved to start the interrogation of the suspects currently in custody. Tomorrow, an application is set to be submitted to the Kottarakkara Court regarding this matter. An inquiry will be conducted into the actions of the accused, including their previous attempts to abduct other children.
Three primary elements are deemed pivotal in identifying the individuals responsible for trafficking the child. These include the cartoon shown to the child by the accused, a sketch compiled based on the signs communicated by the child’s brother, and information provided by a native of Kannanallur.
The investigation took a significant turn following suspicions raised by Abdul Samad, a Kannanallur local, regarding a female voice heard during a ransom phone call. Samad alerted the police when he noticed similarities between the voice in the ransom call and a message received on his friend’s phone requesting money. Samad conveyed this information to the authorities, leading them to the second accused, Anitha.
Upon visiting Anitha’s house, the police discovered the vehicle used by the suspects, thereby confirming their suspicions. The accused were arrested following the child’s identification of the individuals involved.
