THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Due to Cyclone Michaung’s impact on Chennai and neighboring districts, several trains have been cancelled. The Thiruvananthapuram railway division has provided details of the cancelled trains connecting Kerala, as follows:

Kollam – Secunderabad Special train

Rapti Sagar SF Express 12512 (Kochuveli – Gorakhpur)

New Delhi – Thiruvananthapuram Superfast Express

Gurudev Express -12660 (Shalimar to Nagercoil Junction )

Alappuzha-Dhanbad Express [Wednesday & Thursday]

Ernakulam – Tata nagar [Bi-weekly special express]

Ernakulam – Bilaspur SF Express [Weekly]

At the same time, offering a major relief to air passengers travelling to and from Chennai International Airport, flight operations resumed today (December 5) after a 24-hour closure, starting around 9:40 am.

The airport had initially shut down its airfield at 9:17 am on December 4 due to water from the Adyar river inundating the runway.

Consequently, several flights were cancelled and diverted. Incoming flights bound for Chennai were rerouted to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Trichy.
