ERNAKULAM: Today, the Kerala High Court will pronounce its verdict on the plea of the actress (victim) seeking a thorough judicial investigation into the incident of changing the hash value of the memory card containing crucial evidence footage of the assault on the actress. Justice K Babu will pronounce judgment on the victim’s petition.
The actress filed a petition in court to inquire into the unauthorized checking of the memory card three times. The prosecution argued that the forensic report proved the hash value of the memory card containing the footage had changed while in the custody of the trial court.
In the petition, the victim stated that the hash value of the memory card had been changed, possibly due to someone else checking the video, which would affect her privacy. She also expressed fear of a video leak.
Forensic results showed that the hash value had changed on January 9, 2018, December 13, and July 2021. At the same time, the government also informed the court that the information on the memory card should be ensured to be safe.
Meanwhile, in response to the victim’s petition, the accused actor Dileep stated his position in court. He argued how it could be possible to reach a conclusion in the case without checking a memory card, considering it is crucial evidence.
Dileep also informed the court that it appears to be the actress’s attempt to prolong the case indefinitely. Therefore, the actor requested the court to reject the petition.
