Thiruvananthapuram: Hindu Aikyavedi is organising a prayer meeting in response to the mounting mismanagement of Devaswom Board and issues faced by Sabarimala pilgrims. The State Spokesperson for Hindu Aikyavedi , ES Biju, stated that the meeting is scheduled to take place today in various district centers.
Reports indicate that the pilgrims, including children, women, and the elderly, have to stand in queues for hours. Many individuals are reportedly unwell and reliant on medication, yet they stand in line for hours without access to food or water. The meeting aims to express protest over the recent death of 12-year-old Malikappuram ( female pilgrim to Sabarimala) , and allegations are being made that the failure of the Devaswom Board to provide basic facilities was the cause of the child’s death.
Furthermore, Biju criticised the preferential treatment afforded to VVIPs visiting Sabarimala, allowing them a hassle-free Darshan experience. Meanwhile, ordinary pilgrims, are allegedly facing hurdles and are being subjected to unfavorable conditions along the pilgrimage route to have Darshan.
