New Delhi: In a scathing critique of the Kerala state government, Union Minister of State V Muraleedharan denounced the recent attack on the Governor of Kerala by a group of SFI activists. Muraleedharan asserted that the attack on the Governor, which occurred in the middle of the road, reflects the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. Addressing the media after meeting the Governor at Kerala House, the minister claimed that the attack was preplanned, alleging collusion between the attackers and the state government through the use of the police force.
Muraleedharan accused the administration of creating an environment that allows attackers to act with impunity, even to the extent of hindering the movement of the highest authority in the state. Muraleedharan pointed out that the Governor has been steadfast in opposing government corruption and nepotism, fearlessly upholding the values mandated by the law. He cautioned against underestimating the Governor, stating that Arif Mohammad Khan’s impartiality is evident from his extensive public life.
In the face of the current crisis, Muraleedharan predicted a public outcry against what he referred to as the “goon rule” of the CPI(M). He cautioned that if the state administration continued down this path, Kerala could find itself in a more dire situation. Muraleedharan urged the Chief Minister and party secretary to assess whether the language they use is suitable for the positions they hold. He added that maintaining law and order is primarily the responsibility of the Chief Minister rather than that of the Governor.
