Thiruvananthapuram: Latest figures show that the maximum number of passengers traveled from Sharjah in the UAE to India and back is via the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. According to DGCA figures, 1.16 lakh passengers traveled on the Sharjah-Thiruvananthapuram route from July to September 2023. Kochi with 88689 passengers and Delhi with 77859 passengers are at the second and third positions.
Currently, an average of 39,000 people travel on the Thiruvananthapuram-Sharjah route in a month. There is almost 10% increase in number of passengers registered compared to last year. Average monthly ATMs (Air Traffic Movement) is 240.
Air Arabia operates 2 services per day and Air India Express and IndiGo operate one service each on this route. Comparatively low fares and good connectivity to all Gulf countries is what makes the Thiruvananthapuram-Sharjah route so popular.
