Pathanamthitta: The government has transferred senior police officers in response to the failure by the police force to manage the huge crowd at Sabarimala. KV Santhosh, previously stationed at Sannidhanam, has been relocated to Nilakkal, while SP Madhusudan has been moved to Pampa. These transfers were made based on the South Zone IG’s recommendation.

Intense protests were raised against the officials for their failure to manage the crowd at Sabarimala, prompting their transfer.

The High Court mandated comprehensive assistance for devotees visiting Sabarimala. It directed the district administration and Devaswom Board to arrange alternative parking in case of traffic congestion, calling for volunteer assistance. Additionally, the High Court specified that NSS and NCC volunteers should be summoned if required.

The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) informed the High Court about the full parking lots, while the government highlighted overcrowding at Sabaripeedam and Appachimedu. The High Court had previously ordered the maintenance of clean queue complexes and the provision of darshan facilities for all devotees.
