Wayanad: The officials of the forest department could not find the tiger that killed the dairy farmer Prajeesh on December 9 in Bathery. A 20-member team deployed in the forest yesterday conducted a thorough search but failed to locate the tiger. The search operations will continue today to find the tiger.
During yesterday’s search operation, the footprints of the tiger were discovered in a banana plantation situated in the residential area of Koodalloor. But the forest department is still unclear about where the tiger has gone. Beyond the existing 11 cameras, additional cameras have been installed in various locations. A trap has been positioned on a coffee plantation near Colony Kavala. There are plans to set up a new trap in Koodalloor.
As a precautionary measure, schools have been closed, and curfews have been enforced in areas where the presence of the man-eating tiger has been reported.
