Wayanad: The Forest Department has confirmed the identification of the man-eating tiger responsible for the recent death of a young man in Vakeri. A tiger named WWL 45 within the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary killed a dairy farmer named Prajeesh (36) on December 9th. This 13-year-old male tiger was previously identified and listed by the forest department during a tiger census.
A rapid response team, appointed by the Forest Department, is monitoring the movements of the tiger. A mission to tranquillize the tiger has been initiated. A veterinary team had reached the base camp for the deployment of the Tranquillizer dart. The Forest Department has said that a task force is in place to closely monitor the tiger during this operation.
