Kozhikode: Shabna’s sister-in-law has been arrested in connection to her suicide linked to domestic violence. Hafsath, Shabna’s sister-in-law, was taken into custody after her anticipatory bail plea was turned down by the court. Following the denial of bail, she voluntarily surrendered herself to the investigators, resulting in her arrest after interrogation.
Hafsath had gone missing after the case was filed regarding Shabna’s death. Subsequently, an anticipatory bail request was filed, but the court dismissed it yesterday. Thereafter, she cooperated with the police and was apprehended. This brings the total number of individuals arrested in the case to three.
Shabna’s father-in-law was also arrested in connection with her death, but he was granted bail due to his age. Shabna’s mother-in-law Nafeesa, was taken into police custody the day before yesterday. The police had previously arrested Shabna’s husband’s uncle.
