Kollam: The proposed venue of the Chief Minister’s Nava Kerala Sadas in the Chirayinkeezhu constituency has been changed. The venue of the event, which was to be held at the Sarkara Devi Temple grounds was changed due to strong opposition from the public. The new venue is near the Institute of Advanced Virology, Thonnakkal.

The BJP had filed a petition in the High Court against conducting Nava Kerala Sadas in the temple grounds. The High Court will consider the petition tomorrow. The decision to change the venue comes before this.

Meanwhile, the venue of the Nava Kerala Sadas at the Kadakkal Devi Temple grounds was changed yesterday. The High Court had revoked the permission given by the Travancore Devaswom Board to hold the Nava Kerala Sadas at Chakkuvally Parabrahma Temple grounds in Kollam district on December 18. Following this, the venue was changed to the Kadakkal Devi Temple grounds.
