KOLLAM: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that he had not witnessed any incident involving his gunman and escort policeman brutally attacking protesters in Alappuzha. He clarified this in response to claims that protesters, who were raising slogans on the roadside during his bus journey for the ‘Nava Kerala Sadas,’ were attacked.
CM Pinarayi Vijayan further mentioned that he hadn’t come across such news in newspapers or television reports, emphasizing that there was no need for him to verify it. Pinarayi Vijayan accused some of the media of spreading false news and misleading the public, highlighting the use of social media with political motives.
Pinarayi Vijayan was responding to the incident where, on December 15th, police brutally attacked KSU protesters who were raising slogans on the roadside while the bus carrying Vijayan for the ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ venue in Alappuzha. This resulted in severe injuries to four protesters who were subsequently admitted to the hospital.
During today’s press conference, the CM initiated a question-and-answer session by stating that there should be no misrepresentation suggesting he’s not answering the media questions.
