KOZHIKODE: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan stated that he does not require any police security. His remarks came during his visit to the University of Calicut at Tenhipalam campus in Malappuram district amidst strong opposition and protests from SFI activists regarding his visit to the University.
Hundreds of SFI activists raised slogans against the Governor, intending to prevent their entry into any state universities in Kerala.
Amid the severe protests, the Governor entered the University of Calicut. He remarked that certain individuals, under the guise of protests, were attempting to attack him. Furthermore, he challenged them, stating, ‘Let’s see what they can do.’”
Governor said that it’s not students but criminals behind the protests are involving such activities. He emphasized that the individual responsible for political murders in Kannur is behind the attempts to harm him. He firmly stated that any attempts to threaten him and force him out would not succeed.
The Governor then praised the Kerala police, considering them among the best in the country.
However, he criticized the political control over the police by certain political leaders for their own political agendas.
