KOLLAM: Mahila Congress activists in Kollam waved black flags at the bus transporting CM Pinarayi Vijayan for the ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ campaign. Today at around 12 pm, a group of Mahila Congress members protested by waving black flags at the Nava Kerala bus in Kollam near Anandavalleeshwaram temple. All protesters were dressed in black attire.
The incident took place while the CM and other ministers were on the way to the ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ programme in Karunagappally. Congress members have staged similar protests and waved black flags in various constituencies ahead of the Chief Minister’s campaign.
Both Congress and BJP leaders have criticized the ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ program, citing extravagance amid the state’s severe financial crisis. This discontent resulted in several instances of protesters waving black flags at buses carrying Pinarayi Vijayan and other ministers for the programme across different constituencies.
This follows a disturbing incident on December 15th, where the CM’s gunman brutally attacked four protesters waving black flags in Alappuzha. The incident caused severe injuries to the protesters, who were subsequently admitted to the hospital.
