Yuva Morcha accuses CPI(M) of suppressing protests by violence, warns of vigorous opposition to attacks

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CR Praphul Krishnan, the President of Kerala State Yuva Morcha, accused the CPI(M) of forcefully suppressing protests against the Kerala state government. He criticized the extravagant ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ campaign programme, stating that it was being ridiculed by the Kerala community, which the CPI(M) failed to realize.

Praphul Krishnan also mentioned that the Yuva Morcha has scheduled a protest march at Thiruvananthapuram Secretariat on December 23. Emphasizing this, Krishnan highlighted that if DYFI goons physically suppress Yuva Morcha members, they would respond in a similar manner.

Then, Praphul Krishnan highlighted that all venues of the ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ encountered numerous protests.

He warned of significant protests as the Nava Kerala campaign enters Thiruvananthapuram.

Praphul Krishnan expressed concern over yesterday’s incident in Kollam, where Yuva Morcha members protested and that DYFI members attempted to attack them, with the aim of suppressing the protest.  He said that protests are citizens’ rights to express discontent with the government and physically suppressing such protests contradicts democracy.

Praphul Krishnan asserted that the Yuva Morcha won’t allow DYFI’s violent suppression of protests. The Yuva Morcha will defend against DYFI’s attacks. He added that a group of a group of goons and criminals are traveling along with the CM’s ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ campaign programme and creating violence. The Yuva Morcha will not tolerate the DYFI’s violent suppression of protests, Praphul Krishnan said.

Praphul Krishnan was responding to yesterday’s incident where DYFI members attacked Yuva Morcha members in Kollam. He criticized the police for filing case only against Yuva Morcha members  in connection with the incident.

He accused Pinarayi Vijayan’s police of adopting a double standard, allegedly encouraging violent protests against the Governor while suppressing even peaceful demonstrations against Pinarayi Vijayan.

Praphul Krishnan expressed strong opposition to this bias and warned that any attempt to attack their protests would be met with a corresponding response.
