Thiruvananthapuram: Higher Education Minister, R Bindu, has tried to insert CPI(M) activists and supporters into the Kerala University Senate. The Higher Education Minister gave the list of names that the Chancellor must nominate to the senate of the Kerala University. Normally only the list prepared by the university is given to the Governor. This move by the Minister is seen as a violation of the guidelines.

Kerala University Vice Chancellor, Dr. Mohanan Kunnummal, handed the list prepared by the university over to the Governor. Along with this, the VC also submitted the list containing the names of CPI(M) supporters given by the minister.

Minister, R Bindu’s list contains pro-CPI(M) persons such as Kairali News Director, NP Chandrasekaran, Deshabhimani Resident Editor, VB Parameswaran, Purogamana Kala Sahitya Sangam, General Secretary, Asokan Charuvil and writer Benyamin.
