Thiruvananthapuram: A case has been registered against the Chief Minister’s commandos for assaulting protesters brutally. The case was registered under sections 323, 324 and 34 of the IPC.

The Kuruppampady police registered the case as per the court’s directive. The FIRs did not include the names of the police officers. Four FIRs have been registered.

Earlier, the police had registered a case against five people, including the Chief Minister’s gunmen, for the incident involving the assault on protestors. A case has been registered against five people, including Chief Minister’s gunman Anil and security officer Sandeep. The police were willing to file a case only after Alappuzha 1st Class Magistrate Court issued the ruling.

As the police did not file a case against the assailants, the protestors who were assaulted approached the court with evidence including video footage. The court then asked the Alappuzha South Police to file a case against the Chief Minister’s security personnel for assaulting the protesters in violation of the guidelines.
