PATHANAMTHITTA: Reports indicate a crisis in the supply of Sacred Ayyappa Swami Aravana Prasadam at Sabarimala Temple due to a shortage of tins/containers. Subsequently, the Devaswom Board officials decided to provide a maximum of 10 tins of Aravana Prasadam per devotee starting yesterday morning. However, as of today, this allocation has once again been reduced to 5 tins per devotee.
It is reported that in this Mandala – Makaravilakku season two crore tins were ordered for the two companies.
However, the sudden crisis arose because one of the companies failed to deliver the agreed-upon quantity of tins as per the tender on time. The Devaswom Board officials informed us that they are only delivering half of the agreed quantity. Simultaneously, devotees claim that the crisis stems from Devaswom Board officials allegedly failing to assess the capabilities of the tendered company before awarding the tender, thus leading to this situation.
