Thrissur set to welcome PM Modi: will address a gathering of over 2 lakh women at Sthree Shakti Sangamam

Thrissur: The cultural capital of Kerala, Thrissur, is abuzz with preparations as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive today. Led by Thrissur District Collector VR Krishna Teja IAS, a team will welcome the Prime Minister upon his arrival at Kuttanellur, facilitated by a helicopter landing at 2 pm.

The day’s agenda includes a road show starting from the general hospital premises, traversing through Thekke Gopura Nada, Manikandanal, Naduvilal, and culminating at the conference venue in Naikkanal. At 3 pm, the much-anticipated Sthree Shakti Sangamam will kick off at Thekkinkadu Maidan, where Prime Minister Modi is set to address a gathering of over two lakh women.

The prominent women representatives sharing the stage with the Prime Minister include actress Shobhana, PT Usha MP (Indian Olympic Association President), cricketer Minnu Mani, Mariyakutty (a person who fought for welfare pension), social worker Uma Preman, Vechur cattle breed conservationist Dr. Sosamma Iype, and businesswoman Beena Kannan.

A distinguished lineup of political figures, including Union Minister V Muraleedharan, MPs Prakash Javadekar and Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, as well as national leaders AP Abdullakutty, Tom Vadakkan, Anil Antony, State President K Surendran, Suresh Gopi, and Mahila Morcha State President Adv. Nivedida Subramanian, will also share the stage.

Security measures are stringent, with more than 3,000 police personnel deployed in the city and along the Prime Minister’s route. Stringent measures, including inspections by central forces and bomb squads, have been put in place. Entrance to the main gate is allowed only after thorough screening. The collector has declared a holiday for educational institutions in the Thrissur Taluk today.
