Kollam: In a thrilling competition that unfolded at Kollam, Kannur district secured the coveted title, marking its triumph at the 62nd State School Art Festival after 23-years. With a total of 952 points, Kannur clinched the first-place honour, emerging victorious in a close fight that unfolded during the festival.
The district’s win comes after an intense battle with Kozhikode, which held a strong position until last night. This remarkable achievement marks the fourth time Kannur has secured the prestigious crown, showcasing their consistent excellence in the arts.
The competition was fierce, with Kozhikode initially named as the likely title-holder until the final day. However, Kannur displayed a stunning comeback, excelling in the concluding events to secure the top spot. Kozhikode settled for second place with 949 points. Meanwhile, Palakkad claimed the third position with 938 points, while Thrissur secured the fourth spot with 925 points.
