Idukki: The Students’ Federation of India’s (SFI) Idukki District Committee erected a banner along Thodupuzha Muvattupuzha Road, in the path of Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. The banner states, “Sanghi Khan, you are not welcome here!” The incident unfolds as the Governor is scheduled to arrive in Idukki today to inaugurate the Karunyam project of the Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samiti (KVVES).
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) has called for a hartal (strike) in the district, protesting against the Governor’s visit. The hartal is set to last from 6 am to 6 pm. Despite the CPI (M)’s initiative, the KVVES remains firm in its decision not to withdraw from the planned program. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan is expected to reach Thodupuzha by 11:30 am today.
