Kottayam: Sevabharati is all set to provide comfort to cancer patients and bystanders in Kottayam. Sevabharati constructed Sabarigireesha Sevanilayam, a three-storey building of 12,000 square feet, opposite to Gandhinagar KSEB substation near the Kottayam Medical college to provide accommodation to cancer patients and bystanders free of cost.
Sevabharati is arranging free accommodation and food here, for patients and bystanders coming from distant places. With 36 rooms available, 30 rooms with twin beds are prepared already. There is also facility to prepare food for 300 people daily.
The inauguration of the Sabarigireesha Sevanilayam will take place on 15th of this month. This building was constructed at a cost of three and a half crore rupees. This new initiative materializes at a time when the activities of Seva Bharati centered on Kottayam Medical College mark a quarter-century of dedicated service.
Seva Bharati provides many services in Kottayam Medical College such as breakfast distribution, blood donation, ambulance facilities, palliative care, cremation services, help desk during Sabarimala Mandalam season and many more.
