Idukki: Beat Forest Officer PM Zakeer Hussain from the Edapalayam section of Thekkady range has been suspended by the Forest Department for sharing a post on social media that indirectly criticized the Nava Kerala Sadas. The action was taken following discussions sparked by the controversial posts shared on Facebook and a WhatsApp group exclusively meant for Forest Department officials.
Periyar East Division Deputy Director, Patil Suyog Subhash Rao, confirmed that the decision to suspend Hussain was made based on the recommendation of Thekkady Range Forest Officer. The Forest Department took prompt action as the matter gained attention and became a subject of discussion within the department.
