Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the Global Science Festival Kerala (GSFK) in Thiruvananthapuram in dim light conditions. This decision was made following police instructions to keep the inauguration stage in low light. The police directive stemmed from a previous incident during the inauguration of the Nava Kerala Sadas campaign programme. During that event, CM Pinarayi Vijayan expressed displeasure over the lights focused on his face. Then Pinarayi Vijayan criticized the police, blaming the failed inspection on inadequate stage arrangements.
As a precautionary measure, this time, the police instructed to maintain low light levels at the Global Science Festival Kerala inauguration stage.
A special light was installed on the podium to assist Pinarayi Vijayan in reading his scripted speech. Additionally, police officers inspected the microphone connections, recalling a previous incident where a loose microphone connection angered CM Pinarayi Vijayan, leading to the police seizing the microphone and causing controversy.
