THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An altercation between two thattukada owners (roadside street food vendors in Kerala) turned violent and resulted in stabbings. Saidalavi, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, Shanthivila, was seriously injured in the incident that took place in Thiruvananthapuram. The assailant, identified as Riyas, a native of Kollam, is now in police custody.
Saidalavi, a fruit seller, was attacked by Riyas, another fruit seller, following an argument. The argument turned violent, and Saidalawi was stabbed multiple times in the neck, head, and hand. He was immediately admitted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital, and his condition is said to be critical.
Last night, the locals saw Saidalavi lying in a pool of blood near his shop and immediately informed the police. However, by the time the investigation team reached the spot, the assailant, Riyas, had fled. During the subsequent investigation, Riyas was arrested at his home.
