Malappuram: The police have arrested the father-in-law of Tahdila (25), who was found dead by suicide at her residence on Thursday at approximately 9 pm. Aboobacker, a native of Pandallur, was arrested on a complaint filed by Tahdila’s relatives. He was arrested on the charge of abetment of suicide.
Tahdila, from Mancheri, was married to Nisar from Pandallur ten years ago. Currently residing abroad, Nisar was not present at the time of the incident. The couple has four children, the youngest being a two-year-old.
The relatives of the deceased woman have alleged physical and mental harassment by her father-in-law. A case of unnatural death has been registered by the police based on the complaint submitted by Tahdila’s family.
