Thiruvananthapuram: The first International Sports Summit Kerala (ISSK) is set to commence today at the Karyavattom Sports Hub, with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan scheduled to inaugurate the event at 6 pm. The summit, spanning from today until January 26th, will be a platform for discussions and presentations on various aspects of sports.
During the summit, the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) will formally unveil projects, including the construction of a cricket stadium in Kochi and international football stadiums in Malappuram and Kozhikode. These projects are in collaboration with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Over the four-day duration, the summit will feature sports expos, conferences, and seminars. Distinguished sports personalities, including Anju Bobby George, IM Vijayan, Bhaichung Bhutia, Sanju Samson, Minnu Mani, CK Vineeth, and representatives from various sports organisations, will participate in different segments of the summit.
