Ernakulam: The probe into irregularities and violations of norms in the admission of K Vidya, a former leader of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), into the PhD programme at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, has come to a standstill. There are widespread complaints that investigations related to K Vidya’s PhD admission have not started yet.
Vidya’s PhD admission to Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, became controversial when she was accused in a forgery certificate case. Vidya secured PhD admission in the Malayalam department at Kalady University by violating SC/ST reservation rules.
A three-member sub-committee headed by Ottapalam MLA Premkumar, a member of the University’s syndicate, was appointed to investigate the complaint related to Vidya’s PhD admission. The sub-committee was appointed on June 9, 2023. However, sub-committee member Dr. Mohandas said the investigation has not been completed yet.
