Happening Kerala: The Kerala police just admitted to being inefficient and inactive in the FIR copy that they gave to the Governor

It is not every day that you see the Governor of a state sitting by the roadside in front of a teashop. However, the people of Kerala were lucky enough to see such a spectacle on TV screens and mobile phones today. And they might be thanking the Chief Minister of Kerala and the police for making all this possible.

This is Kerala for you – lawless and wild. Even the Governor of the state has to resort to a sit-in protest to get protection from being harmed by violent SFI activists.

As the Governor is Arif Mohammed Khan, he had the boldness to stick to his guns and demanded that the police arrest the culprits and bring him the copy of the FIR against them. Without getting the copy of the FIR, the Governor refused to budge from his position by the roadside.

The police, in a bid to pacify the Governor and also to keep them in the good books of the communist regime, rounded up only 17 SFI activists and produced the copy of the FIR to the Governor.

The Governor was quick to pick up their game and pointed out to the media that there were around fifty protesters and only seventeen have been arrested. However, he said that he will accept what the FIR report says.

But then came the salvo from the Governor.

Arif Mohammed Khan asked if there were only 17 SFI activists there to protest against him, why the police failed to apprehend them before they attacked. He clarified that there were definitely more police officers at the time.

The Governor then explained that the police inaction was because they were ordered not to by the Chief Minister. It must be noted that the Home Ministry is run by the CM and this accusation against the CM is very serious.

The Governor will also use the copy of the FIR to report the incident to the Central Government. The FIR copy is very critical in the whole incident. The police have themselves accepted the fact that they were inefficient in dealing with a mere 17 protesters.

Had the police taken into custody all the protesters and given a FIR stating that around 50 SFI protesters were involved in the incident, they could have claimed that it was hard to prevent the crowd from launching the attack against the Governor. However, they chose to help the SFI activists by arresting only seventeen and letting the others go scot free.

However, the FIR will be used against the police themselves as the officers must answer for their inefficiency and inaction in dealing with protesters. The officers must either tell the truth that there were more than seventeen attackers or they must admit that they were inefficient or were following the orders from the top. Either way, they are in a quagmire.

Attacking the head of the state is not the same as protesting against him. The Governor himself has said that he is not against protesting against him in a democratic way. However, for a communist regime, the word democracy holds no value.
