Kollam: Kollam witnessed unusual events today as the Governor of Kerala, Arif Mohammed Khan, after two hours of protest, concluded his protest by making SFI activists back out. Following an attack launched by SFI activists, the Governor stepped out of the car and started protesting in front of a tea shop for two hours. The protest concluded with the Governor leaving the site after compensating the shop owner with Rs 1000 for the loss of business.
Shop owner Firoze expressed his reluctance to accept the money, but the Governor insisted and handed over the compensation. Despite confrontation with SFI activists, the Governor participated in a public program organised at Kottarakkara. In response to the incident, the Central Government has opted to grant Z+ security cover with CRPF commandos to both the Governor and Kerala Raj Bhavan.
