Kollam: Following the SFI goons’ attack on Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan in Nilamel, Kollam, the central government decided to provide Z+ Security cover of CRPF commandos to the Governor and Kerala Raj Bhavan. This was followed by an incident that took place this morning, where a group of SFI activists rushed towards the Governor’s vehicle to attack with a black flag.
It is also informed that the Prime Minister’s office contacted the Governor regarding these atrocities from the SFI members. Following this, the Raj Bhavan announced that they have received message from the Union Home Ministry regarding the provision of Z+ Security for Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and Kerala Raj Bhavan.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Union Home Minister Amit Shah also contacted the Governor and inquired about the atrocity. While speaking to the media, the Governor vehemently criticized the Kerala CM for encouraging violence in the state. He added that left political workers are working for Pinarayi Vijayan. The Governor also questioned whether the police would make such a security lapse if they were on duty for Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan. He mentioned that he doesn’t mind if the attackers are protesting by showcasing a black flag at a distance, but blocking travel is a complete atrocity.
Facing continuous blockades from the SFI in recent days, the Governor got out of the car and confronted the attackers. He questioned the state police about the security duty and also inquired how they would provide security if it were the Chief Minister.
In response to the attack, the Governor questioned the police about why they did not intensify security measures despite having information about the SFI attack. Arif Mohammad Khan urged the police to register an FIR against the attackers during his stay there. Police charged 17 attackers with a non-bailable case. The Governor stated that the state police had failed in providing security.
