Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan inaugurated the Kerala Pradesh Mahila Congress protest march at the main gate of the Kerala Legislative Assembly in Thiruvananthapuram.

Citing the Kerala government’s failure to curb the surging prices of essential commodities in the state, a group of Mahila Congress staged a protest in front of the Kerala Legislative Assembly with holding empty pots. Protesters used empty pots to symbolize the Pinarayi Vijayan-led government’s neglect, pushing the public into a situation of scarcity. Protestors condemned that the Kerala government is not taking any action to address the increasing prices of essential commodities .

Protestors also claimed that all Maveli stores of the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) are empty, and people are not getting products through the ration shop outlets.

After inaugurating the protest, the Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan accused the Pinarayi government of misusing funds for extravagant campaign programs, while the people of Kerala are in distress due to a severe financial crisis. Satheesan also accused the state government of being involved in corruption, scams, bribes, and backdoor appointments.
