Alappuzha: In response to threats and a cyber attack by the Popular Front of India (PFI) terrorists, Mavelikara Additional District Sessions Court Judge VG Sridevi, who delivered the verdict in the Ranjith Sreenivasan murder case, will now receive police security.

The quarters of Judge VG Sridevi will be guarded by a team of five policemen, including a sub-inspector (SI), to ensure her safety. The move aims to safeguard the judge from potential harm in the aftermath of the verdict that handed death sentences to all accused in the BJP OBC Morcha state secretary Ranjith Sreenivasan murder case.

After the judgement, the woman judge faced a significant cyberattack by the Popular Front of India (PFI) terrorists. Abusive posts targeting Judge Sridevi were identified on the Facebook pages of leaders associated with the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), accompanied by a picture of the judge. Subsequently, security measures were deemed necessary to safeguard the judge from potential harm.

The Mavelikara Additional District Sessions Court recently handed down a death sentence to all the accused in the BJP OBC Morcha state secretary Ranjith Sreenivasan murder case. The verdict marked a significant milestone in the legal proceedings. Following this, the investigative team is preparing to submit the charge sheet for the second phase, with charges expected to be filed against 20 individuals associated with the case.
