Thiruvananthapuram: Yet another CPI Minister voiced against allocation of funds in this year’s State Budget. Minister for Animal Husbandry, J Chinchu Rani openly expressed her dissatisfaction with the Kerala Budget 2024-25. Chinchu Rani publicly announced that the allocation in the budget for her department has decreased, which is 40 percent less than last time. She also stated that she will meet Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Finance Minister KN Balagopal and express her dissatisfaction over the cut in the amount.

The Minister told the media that she will meet the Chief Minister personally after his trip to Delhi to resolve the issue at the earliest. Though Chinchu Rani said that she did not think that CPI ministers were being discriminated, the reduction of funds allocated to the departments of the CPI ministers in the state budget has become a huge controversy.

Minister for Food and Civil Supplies GR Anil also responded that the food department was not given due consideration in the budget this year. GR Anil said that the food department is going through a big crisis and it should be given importance in the budget. Food supply sector in Kerala especially Supplyco is facing a big crisis.
