Kozhikode: One more accused has been apprehended for issuing death threats on social media against the judge who delivered the verdict in the Ranjith Sreenivasan murder case. Mohammed Hadi, a resident of Changaroth, Panthirikkara, was arrested by the police from his workplace in Perambra.
Following the announcement of the verdict in the Ranjith Sreenivasan murder case, the accused posted on Facebook, suggesting that Alappuzha Sessions Court Judge Mrs. VG Sridevi should be killed. Subsequently, the accused was arrested by a team led by Peruvannamuzhi Police Inspector Arun Das.
Earlier, the police had detained three individuals involved in the incident of threatening the judge. The arrested individuals hailed from Mannanchery, Alappuzha, and Pothencode, Thiruvananthapuram. Police provided security to VG Sridevi after death threats were issued.
