Thiruvananthapuram:The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has welcomed the government’s stance of opening foreign university campuses in Kerala to improve the higher education sector. ABVP leader NCT Sreehari said that the student organization welcomes the government’s decision to change its previous position.

“The best universities should open campuses in Kerala. The government should not open its doors to foreign universities that have no standards. There should be precise criteria. It should be affordable for common people. Students should not face discrimination. It is the responsibility of the government to ensure that the influx of foreign universities does not disintegrate the existing education system”, ABVP emphasized.

“With foreign universities setting up campuses in Kerala, exodus can be prevented and thus brain drain. Initially, education in foreign universities can create great passion in students. The government should take initiative to prevent such unhealthy trends. The influx of foreign universities will create a fundamental change in the quality of education”, ABVP added. ABVP also stated that this will ensure better education for the students.
