New Delhi: Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar criticized the protest led by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. He pointed out that Kerala is a state with the most economic mismanagement in the country. He was answering the questions of the media persons regarding the protest.

“A political drama is unfolding in the national capital. The drama is to hide the incompetence and corruption of the opposition parties. Kerala is a state going through the worst economic condition in the country. Between 2016 and 2023, Kerala incurred a loss of Rs 1,10,000 crore. This is something that the Supreme Court has also accepted. He also said that without the money coming from the Gulf countries, the financial condition of Kerala will be worse than that of Sri Lanka,” said Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan led a protest by the LDF Government of Kerala with MLAs, MPs and senior leadership of the party at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Thursday morning. The protest was to voice against the alleged indifferent attitude of the Centre towards its demand for orderly fiscal devolution. In his address, Pinarayi Vijayan stated the protest is to seek the need for balance in Centre-State relations.

It was reported that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also joined the agitation organised by the Kerala government.
