Thiruvananthapuram: Actor Suresh Gopi expressed his happiness on awarding the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour, to MS Swaminathan, hailed as the Father of the Green Revolution in Bharat.

This honour is a testament of your unwavering commitment to our Motherland. Jai Hind!” Suresh Gopi wrote in a Facebook post.
Suresh Gopi also expressed his pride as a Malayali, citing his ancestral connection to Mankombu in Alappuzha, the native place of MS Swaminathan. He expressed immense joy and pride in witnessing such a distinguished honour bestowed upon a fellow native of Mankombu.
