Wayanad: Locals staged a blockade protest after the death of a man in a wild elephant attack in Mananthavady , Wayanad. Expressing their outrage, residents blocked the road when Superintendent of Police T. Narayanan arrived to gather information. The locals blocked the road with the dead body of Ajeesh. They insisted him to get out of his vehicle and walk to the medical college.

The crowd detained SP in the city centre, chanting ‘go back’ slogans directed at the Superintendent of Police when he headed to the medical college. The authorities said that they would conduct an investigation into the incident and take appropriate action.

Residents in Mananthavady are reporting frequent wild animal attacks and claim that authorities are not taking action to address the issue. Locals who staged the blockade protest are asserting that they will continue their protest with Ajeesh’s dead body until authorities find a solution.

A wild elephant with a radio collar ventured into Mananthavady today in the early hours, and it broke the wall of a nearby house and attacked Ajeesh Kumar.
