Ernakulam: The suspects involved in the blast at the firecracker warehouse in Thrippunithura have been arrested and remanded. Hill Palace officials arrested Shashi, Vinod, Vineeth, and Satheesan. Two of them are temple committee members, and two are contract workers. Devaswom President Sajeesh Kumar is the primary accused in the case. The main accused, who are associated with the temple committee, are still absconding. The police have intensified their search to apprehend them. The police have registered a case against the accused under various non-bailable sections, including Sections 304 and 308 of the IPC.

The explosion occurred during the unloading of firecrackers brought from Palakkad. Four individuals who sustained severe burns in the blast are currently receiving treatment at Kalamassery Medical College. Approximately 25 nearby houses have incurred damage, with around 10 of them completely destroyed. Tragically, two individuals lost their lives in the incident.
