Thiruvananthapuram: Eldhose Kunnappilly, MLA, has called for the resignation of AK Saseendran as Forest Minister. The Perumbavoor MLA stated that the forest department should be given to KB Ganesh Kumar, who possesses expertise in elephant management, and expressed concerns over AK Saseendran’s ability to efficiently handle the department due to his old age. Kunnappilly made these remarks during a discussion session in the Legislative Assembly.

Kunnappilly remarked that his constituency, Perumbavoor, was an area adjacent to forest borders and had become uninhabitable due to frequent elephant incursions. He emphasized that this situation needed to be addressed promptly and reflected on Veerappan’s effectiveness in handling similar circumstances.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the current Forest Minister’s performance, Kunnappilly advocated for the transfer of responsibilities to K.B Ganesh Kumar, known for his love for elephants. Kunnappilly also urged the Chief Minister to consider transfer of these departments.
