Thiruvananthapuram: The two-year-old daughter of a nomadic couple, who went missing from Pettah, Thiruvananthapuram, was found yesterday evening after 7:30 PM and is currently undergoing medical observation in the hospital. The doctors have informed us that the child will be observed for 24 hours.
After a 20-hour-long search, the two-year-old girl named ‘Mary’ was found in Kochuveli, Thiruvananthapuram, and was shifted to the SAT Women and Child Hospital for medical observation.
It is suspected that the child had not been given food and water since she went missing. The medical team also informed that the child was dehydrated. She was examined by medical experts in the departments of Pediatric Medicine and Pediatric Surgery, who stated that the child is not speaking much because she is scared and needs to recover her mental health.
The medical team stated that if there are no health problems after 24 hours of observation, the child will be discharged from the hospital. Police informed that they would collect information from the child when her health improves. Officials also mentioned that they are discussing matters related to shifting the child to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) shelter home after treatment.

Following a 20-hour search, the child was found last night at 7:30 PM near a drainage ditch in Kochuveli.
The police have informed that the investigating team has received a tip-off about the accused. However, they need to collect more evidence for clarification. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) stated that the team will investigate how the child reached Kochuveli. Although there were no CCTV cameras in the area where the child went missing, the police will verify CCTV footage from the regions of All Saints College and Chakkai which is near to Kochuveli to find out who brought the child there. The police also stated that they will investigate whether the two-year-old child wandered away voluntarily.
