Thiruvananthapuram: The police have obtained significant CCTV footage that will provide clues to the abduction of the two-year-old girl who was sleeping with her parents in Pettah, Thiruvananthapuram. It is reported that the crucial footage was captured by a CCTV camera at a house in the Arappura Residence Association, Thiruvananthapuram. The child was found yesterday evening at 7.30 near a drainage ditch in Kochuveli.

The police are currently examining the video footage. A team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) began examining the footage after 6 pm yesterday. There is suspicion that the suspects came from Chakkai.

The police have reported that they received video footage from yesterday evening at 5:15 pm, showing the suspected perpetrators arriving at Arappuravilakam near Chakkai in a vehicle. Police said that the video footage reveals that the suspects arrived at Arappuravilakam, parked their vehicle, and one individual exited with the child, walking away. Later, the same individual returned, but the child was not in them.

The police will verify the entire CCTV footage along the Arappuravilakam to Chakai route. Additionally, it has been reported that a sketch of the suspected accused has been prepared. However, the police have not released the sketch image due to an unclear description.

Meanwhile, forensic tests are underway to collect evidence near the drain ditch where the accused abandoned the child.

According to police reports, the two-year-old girl, the daughter of a nomadic couple – Amardeep and Rabina Devi from Bihar, went missing from Pettah, Thiruvananthapuram yesterday morning, around 1:00 AM. Following a 20-hour search, the child was found last night at 7:30 PM near a drainage ditch in Kochuveli.
