Alappuzha: A huge crowd gathered in Alappuzha yesterday to purchase Bharat rice distributed by the central government near the Marankulangara Temple. Upon learning of the rice distribution, locals hurried to obtain it, with distribution carried out on a token basis. Around 1,000 individuals received 10 kg of rice each yesterday alone.
The distributors also showcased samples of Bharat Rice for people to inspect before making their purchases. The rice was available at a rate of Rs. 290 for 10 kg. While some politicians stated that the central government’s rice distribution method goes against regulations, the BJP asserts that there is no political motive behind it. BJP clarified that it was a non-political initiative aimed at benefiting the people.
BJP has stated that the distribution of Bharat rice is occurring nationwide, with distributors disseminating the rice through the National Cooperative Consumer Federation of India, a central government organization.
