Kozhikode: BJP Kerala State President K Surendran has spoken out against those who have stirred controversy over the Kerala Padayathra posters. Surendran clarified that some are deliberately creating controversy over the posters published for the Kerala Padayathra events. He added that one of his scheduled ‘Lunch with SC/ST leaders,’ mentioned in the poster, is intentionally being made controversial by opposition party leaders, with malicious intent.

Surendran stated that those behind the controversy are some members of other parties who are intolerant of SC/ST leaders joining the BJP. He emphasized that he also belongs to the backward community, having been born into one of the most backward communities in society.

Surendran criticized the notion that he should not dine with SC/ST leaders, asserting that he has never harbored an upper-caste complex. He proudly stated that he was born into a backward class and affirmed his commitment to continue having meals and participating in programmes alongside SC/ST leaders even after the Kerala Padayathra programmes conclude.

Surndran then said that earlier, SC/ST leaders used to only attend programmes of the LDF, but today they are participating in BJP’s programmes. Surendran attributed the controversy to intolerance. He also stated that SC/ST leaders will join and contest for NDA candidates in the elections.
