Thiruvananthapuram: Sree Narayana Guru Open University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Mubarak Pasha submitted his resignation letter to Governor Arif Mohammed Khan. The second phase of hearing to remove four Vice-Chancellors was held at Raj Bhavan today, citing irregularities in their appointments. But Open University VC Mubarak Pasha was not present for the hearing. It is reported that the VC resigned before the hearing. Earlier, the Governor had issued a notice to remove the VC.
The Governor had called the hearing to sack the VCs of Calicut University – Dr MJ Jayaraj, Sanskrit University – Dr MV Narayanan, Open University – PM Mubarak Pasha and Digital University – Dr Saji Gopinath for appointment in violation of UGC rules.
