Thiruvananthapuram: Radical Islamists posted abusive comments on social media against Divya S Iyer who offered Pongala to Atukal Bhagavathy. The picture of Divya S Iyer, who is currently the MD of Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited, preparing pongala, was shared by her husband KS Sabrinathan on social media.
The picture was shared with the caption, ‘Pongala being offered to Attukal Amma in front of our residence in Palkulangara’. But few disrespectful comments appeared as soon as this image was posted. Someone asked if Divya was preparing egg curry or chicken curry in the bowl. Someone else commented on her belief stating that, there is no use of being so much educated if her belief is portrayed in such a way. There are even comments that come as an insult to Attukal Bhagavathy and Hindu beliefs.
