Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow alert for various districts in Kerala, forecasting a surge in temperature over the upcoming days. The districts under yellow alert includes Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Kannur districts. According to the IMD, temperature is expected to rise by two to four degrees Celsius above current levels in these districts.
In response to the alert, the disaster management authority has issued guidelines urging people to take necessary precautions. They have advised individuals to avoid direct exposure to sunlight during peak hours, particularly from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Additionally, authoritis has emphasised the importance of staying hydrated by drinking plenty of fresh water throughout the day. They have cautioned against consuming caffeinated beverages, as they can increase the risk of dehydration.
