Alappuzha: Alappuzha Medical College has announced that patients seeking inpatient treatment will now be required to pay Rs. 30 for the admission book, which was previously provided free of charge.
The Superintendent of the hospital issued a circular, emphasising the financial strain and the necessity of introducing charges for the admission book. Earlier, these books were readily available at no cost, as they were printed by the government press. However, the printing of the book has been halted, and now the book is not available in the hospital.
To address this challenge, the Hospital Development Committee, under the chairmanship of the District Collector, has taken the initiative to independently print the admission books.
