Siddharth’s death: Suresh Gopi visits Siddharth’s home; emphasizes CBI inquiry into the case

Wayanad: Actor and BJP leader Suresh Gopi visited the residence of Siddharth. Suresh Gopi extended his condolences to Siddharth’s family and inquired about the challenges Siddharth faced during his time at Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in Pookode. Suresh Gopi visited Siddharth’s house with BJP district leaders. He returned after consoling Siddharth’s family.

Suresh Gopi spoke to the media after visiting Siddharth’s house. Speaking to the media, he emphasised the need for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)  enquiry in this case. He said that it was essential for justice to prevail and for the perpetrators responsible for Siddharth’s demise to be brought to book.

He said that Siddharth’s death is a tragic incident that has deeply affected his family and the community at large. The truth behind his demise must be disclosed, and those found guilty must face consequences. He said that, that the incident of Siddharth’s death is not only a shock to his family; it has also affected all parents of other students and this situation must be resolved.

The situation leading to the death of Siddharth began on February 14th during Valentine’s Day celebrations at the college. Siddharth, participating in a dance with senior female students, was publicly beaten and humiliated by some of his seniors, including SFI activists. Tragically, on February 18th, Siddharth was discovered dead, hanging in the hostel bathroom on the campus of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in Pookode. Subsequently, all 18 individuals accused in connection with the incident have been apprehended. Charges have been filed against them under various sections, including the Prohibition of Ragging Act, abetment of suicide, and assault.
